The Catholic health care mission
Catholic health care is an extension of the healing ministry of Jesus. Founded in most cases by religious sisters and brothers, Catholic hospitals are guided by the conviction that every person is made in the image of God and deserves compassionate, competent care. That mission is expressed through care for the whole person — body, mind, and spirit — a reverence for the dignity of human life from conception to natural death, and a special concern for those who are poor, marginalized, or without a voice.
